A school website
you can
keep up to date.
A professional rebuild, and you make changes yourself by typing what you want. No developer, no waiting, no invoice for a five-word change. I built Carraragarmungee Primary's new site, and I can build yours.
What people say about working with me.
Your website hasn't changed since it launched. You know it.
Every school site starts strong. Then a new event needs adding, a policy changes, or a staff photo needs replacing. Someone has to log a ticket, wait for a developer, or fight a template that won't cooperate.
So the edit doesn't happen. The old newsletter stays up. The enrolment page still shows last year's dates. Families notice before staff do.
The ease of a website builder. The freedom of a site you can pick up and move.
A drag-and-drop builder is easy to edit but locks you into its platform. Custom code gives you freedom but needs a developer for every change. Your school gets both.
Change anything yourself, in plain English.
Type what you want changed, the way you'd text someone. The edit gets made for you. It goes live on the real site on its own, in about half a minute. No developer, no waiting, no invoice for a five-word change.
A real edit on the Carra site, typed in plain English, live in about half a minute.
Hosted for you. Never locked in.
I host the site and look after it. That's what the yearly fee covers. It's built on standard, portable technology. If you ever want to take it elsewhere, it can move to any host. No platform you can't leave.
Built for a real school: Carraragarmungee Primary.
A full rebuild. Real content, written with the school. Local SEO and schema built in from day one.
Homepage. Introduces the school and points new families straight to enrolment.
Playgroup page. Answers the questions a new parent asks, and captures the enquiry.
Gallery. Every photo checked for consent before it went live.
Mobile. Most parents check the site from their phone, so it had to work there first.
What went into the build
- A full 13-page rebuild, structured around how a parent decides on a school
- Real content written with the school, not filler text
- The school's own photos, prepared and consent-checked, never stock images
- Local SEO and schema built in from day one
- Playgroup and After-School-Care pages built to capture enrolment enquiries
- The Connecting to Country page, written and signed off with the local Elder
We are delighted with the finished product. It feels warm, welcoming and genuinely reflects the strengths of who we are.
We particularly appreciate how the design celebrates our students, our 150-year history and our strong connection to the local community.
Highly recommend Jason and High Country Digital for other schools looking to create a modern, attractive and user-friendly website.
Carraragarmungee trusted me with 150 years of history and culturally sensitive material. I got it right, with the local Elder signing off the Connecting to Country page before it went live.

One build, one price. Real content, real photos, and a site built to work the way your school runs.
A complete rebuild
10 to 15 pages, built from scratch around your school and how families use it.
Content written with you
I start from what you already have and turn it into clear, well-structured pages.
Mobile-first and fast
Built for a parent scrolling on their phone. Lighthouse 90+ on mobile, checked before launch.
Local SEO and schema
I set up the details Google and AI tools read about your school, for every town you serve.
Enquiry forms
Enrolment and contact enquiries land straight in your inbox, ready to action.
Works with Department hosting
Built to fit around your existing Department hosting and domain arrangements.
Self-serve editing
Set up and ready from day one, so you can make changes yourself.
Ongoing hosting and care
I look after hosting, security, and uptime, all year round.
What it costs.
A school website build costs $3,500 + GST. After that it's $345 + GST a term to keep it looked after. That covers the jobs self-editing can't do for you. Bigger changes later, like a batch of new pages, are quoted separately.

If you'd rather I just kept the site online, hosting on its own is $210 a year + GST. Either way there's no lock-in contract, and you're never stuck on a platform you can't leave.
Take fundraising money through the same website.
I can build a small online shop into your school website. Pie drives, uniform sales, event tickets, meal pre-orders. Parents pay online, the money lands in your school council's own account, and the office gets each order by email.
One website, not two.
Some schools run a whole second website just to take fundraising money. Others hand a cut to a fundraising platform. Your shop lives inside the site you already have. Same look, same address, nothing extra to manage.
You add the products yourself.
Adding a product works like any other change to the site. You type it, the way you'd text someone, and it's ready to sell in a few minutes. When the drive ends, you take it down the same way.
The money goes straight to the school.
Parents pay through your school council's own Stripe account, which only your school controls. Card details never touch the website. Each paid order lands in the office inbox with the student's name and class. That name and class is the only student detail collected, so the office knows whose order it is.
Shop Lite starts at $1,500 + GST on top of the website build. The shop adds $210 a year + GST to your hosting, so the yearly total is $420 + GST.
Wine drives and raffles have extra rules. Your business manager confirms those before I list the products.
Tell me about your school and I'll show you what a shop could look like on your site.
Five steps. Most of the work is mine.
You're busy running a school. This is built to take almost nothing from your day.
Book a free Digital Review
No cost and no pressure. I learn about your school and what the site needs to do.
I gather your content
Newsletters, your current site, photos, whatever you've already got. I turn it into clear pages.
I build it
Your new site takes shape while you keep running the school.
You sign off
You review everything and ask for changes before anything goes live.
It launches, and it's yours
From here, you make changes yourself, in plain English, whenever you need to.
Quick answers to the questions every school asks.
How do we make changes to the site ourselves?
You type what you want in plain English, the way you'd text someone. The change is made for you and it goes live on the real website by itself in about half a minute. No code, no waiting on a developer, and no invoice for a small change.
Do we own the site, or are we locked in?
You own your domain, your content, and everything on the site. There's no contract and no exit fee. The site is built on standard web code, not a platform of mine. If you ever want to move it to someone else, I hand over the code and the files and you go. A lot of school website providers can't do that, because their sites only work inside their own system.
What's the site built with?
The pages are standard web code, hosted on Vercel. The plain-English editing you see in the video runs on a tool called Lovable. You don't need an account, a login, or a subscription for it. I set that up and cover the cost, and it's included in your yearly fee.
Where is it hosted, and what does the fee cover?
I host it on fast, secure infrastructure and keep it running. Hosting on its own is $210 a year + GST. That covers hosting, the security certificate, uptime, and behind-the-scenes updates. You edit your own content as much as you like, at no extra cost. If you'd rather I made a change for you, I quote the work first. Cared For includes that work instead.
Do we have to write all the content ourselves?
No. I write it with you. I start from what you already have, like your newsletters, your current site, or a quick chat, and I turn it into clear, well-structured pages. You review and adjust everything before it goes live.
Does it work with our Department hosting and domain?
Yes. Government schools have specific hosting and domain arrangements, and the site is built to fit around them. We sort out pointing your domain at the new site together as part of launch.
What about photos of students and privacy?
You stay in control of every image. I only publish photos you confirm you have consent for. Anything culturally sensitive is handled carefully and signed off before it goes live, the way I did Carra's Connecting to Country page with the local Elder.
How long does it take to build?
Usually three to four weeks once you've confirmed your content and photos. The main thing that slows a build down is waiting on photos, so I send a simple list of what I need up front.
What does it cost?
$3,500 + GST for the full build, then $345 + GST a term for Cared For. If you'd rather I just kept the site online, hosting on its own is $210 a year + GST. Bigger changes later, like a batch of new pages, are quoted separately.
Can the website take fundraising payments?
Yes. I can build a small shop into your site for pie drives, uniform sales and event tickets. Parents pay through your school council's own Stripe account, and the site emails each order to the office. It starts at $1,500 + GST on top of the build. The shop's hosting and support is another $210 a year + GST, so $420 a year in total. Wine drives and raffles have extra rules. Your business manager confirms those before I list the products.
What's the difference between Cared For and plain hosting?
Plain hosting at $210 a year + GST keeps the site online, secure, and yours to edit. Cared For at $345 + GST a term adds the jobs editing can't do for you. Each term I write one news story with you and publish it, with photo consent checked, and refresh your gallery from photos you send me. I also send a plain-English report your school council can read, and keep your Google and Bing listings current. Once a year I check the site against current accessibility and compliance standards and send the result in writing. If an edit goes wrong I put it back, and one small structural change a term is included. It's not maintenance. There's nothing to patch, and you keep the site current yourself.
Got a question I haven't answered? Tell me about your school and I'll get back to you personally, or pick a time and we'll talk it through.
