I'm Jason Townsend. I run High Country Digital on my own, out of Victoria, Australia. I build websites, fix search visibility, and set up lead recovery for small trade and service businesses.
I started out in mechanical engineering. That's a fancy way of saying I like understanding how systems work, and fixing the ones that don't. That mindset carried straight into what I do now.
Over the last decade I've built the websites, written the copy, and run the SEO. I've mentored business owners through the same problems twice over. I'm the person people call when they know they need something digital but can't name it.
Lead Recovery came out of watching the same jobs get lost. A tradie can't answer the phone from a roof. A quote sits in a spreadsheet and nobody chases it. So the system answers the call, texts back in seconds, chases the quote, and asks for the review. It runs on Thryvia, the automation platform I built for trades.
Recent work includes a website for Peak Physiotherapy and a school site for Carraragarmungee Primary School. The Carra staff update it themselves, in plain English. I've also built Steers Co a private ordering portal, so their trade customers order once instead of five ways.

Who runs High Country Digital?
I do. My name is Jason Townsend and High Country Digital is a one-person business. I handle every job myself, from the first Digital Review through to the finished site. There is no team behind me and no account manager in the middle.
Is High Country Digital an agency?
No. It is one person working directly with you. Agencies sell you to a senior and hand the work to a junior. I don't have juniors, so the person you brief is the person who builds it.
Does High Country Digital outsource any work?
No. Nothing is sent offshore and nothing is subcontracted. I write the copy, build the site, set up the automation and do the SEO myself. That's the whole reason the work stays consistent.
Where is High Country Digital based?
I'm based in Victoria, Australia. I work with businesses across Australia, Canada and the United States. Everything runs remotely, so where you are doesn't change what you get or what it costs.
